The Fairtrade Foundation has granted Lincoln Fairtrade City status. The University has been part of the Fairtrade Steering Group. In order to become a Fairtrade City five goals had to be achieved, including the promotion of Fairtrade goods.
Back in February during Go Green Week the Fairtrade Steering Group came to the Brayford Campus to promote Fairtrade goods to staff and students.
//The updated Environmental & Sustainability Strategy and Environmental Policy were approved at the University’s SMT Committee on Monday 18th February.
The new Strategy sets out objectives for environmental improvements at the University up to 2017. The updated Environmental Policy removes out of date information and adds an updated section on biodiversity
//The University’s new School of Engineering building has been designed to minimise its environmental impact. As part of the BREEAM assessment process a case study for the building has been produced: Engineering Building Case Study
