What is Student Switch Off?
The Student Switch Off rewards the court which saves the most energy by the end of the year with a massive celebratory party. On top of this you can bag prizes all for yourselves (and your flatmates if you like sharing!) by submitting an energy-saving themed photo in the Facebook competitions that run every few weeks.
How do you make your halls win?
Easy – pledge to take simple energy saving actions:
- Switching off lights and appliances
- Putting a lid on pans when cooking
- Only filling the kettle with the water needed
- Putting on an extra layer rather than turning on the heating.
Collectively the small energy-saving actions add up to big energy savings.
